Jade Souza became a doula in 2001, inspired by her own journey to motherhood in 2000. She has been involved in her community as a mother, activist and volunteer.

She is the mother of two children, and has breastfed for a total of 3 and a half years…and still going!

Jade has worked as a youth street outreach worker, women’s shelter coordinator, preschool teacher’s assistant, and stay-at-home-mom. She is a doula with the Birth Attendants Prison Doula Project. She is a current candidate for certification as a childbirth educator through International Childbirth Education Association.

She loves writing, spending time with her family and friends, raising chickens, and aimlessly romping around downtown Olympia.
